Project Description:
The Catawba Indian Nation Project is a construction of three roads located in York County South Carolina, across 4, 833 feet of land. This project includes the grading, drainage and the resurfacing of three roads and parking areas at the tribal culture center and the head start center. Triplett-King’s duties consists of clearing and grubbing, traffic control, unclassified excavation, macadam base, asphalt binder and surface, permanent construction signs, pavement markings, laying of pipes, erosion control and utilities.
The project is unique in that the trees that hold significance interest to the tribe had to be worked around. This caused the roads to be realigned in the field to accommodate not disturbing the trees. Also this project had to be completed within 75 days after work started. Prime contractor for this job is Smalls Loading Ltd., Inc. of Huger, SC.
