Project Description:
This is SCDOT’s project, File 10.174B, bridge and approaches replacement over the Wallace River and the Rantowles Creek on US 17 in Charleston County. The bridges are pile supported. The Wallace Bridge is 10 spans for a total length 330.00, and the Rantowles Bridge is 8 spans with concrete beams for a total length 410.96’.
Triplett-King and Associates is responsible for supplying a certified field inspector and engineering support for the quality assurance and construction of the two bridges and the approaches on the above project. Our responsibilities include foundation inspection of the piling, placement and verification of the substructure members and concrete and reinforcing inspection and field testing of all utilized in the construction of the bridges, daily documentation of all work performed, and verification of all pay items installed
We are responsible for supplying quality assurance inspection for all of the roadway construction of the approaches leading to bridges. These duties include field testing of the soils, compaction field testing, and asphalt placement, daily documentation of all roadwork performed and verification of all pay items installed.
