Project Description:

Triplett-King has been retained to perform inspection of 5 ITS contracts throughout the state and to provide other inspection services to the Department to insure the proper installation of Homeland Security Devices. 

The ITS contracts consist of the installation of ITS components and other systems associated with the ITS program such as transmission equipment, weather stations and fiber optic cable in the following counties or Districts (SC File No. Included): York (46.217B), District 3 (4753.133B), District 5 (4755.131B), District 1 & 4 ITS (4751.131B & 4754.132B), and District 6 ITS (4756.129B).  Out of these five projects, two have construction contract amounts exceeding 2 million dollars.  The first is District 1 & 4 ITS (4751.131B & 4754.132B) where the majority of the work exists in Cherokee County along I-85.  This 23 mile project contains 27 Radar Visual Detectors (R.V.D.), 20 Closed Circuit Television Assemblies, 34 ITS cabinets, 31 concrete poles, 60,000 LF of Fiber Optic Cable, and 2 Dynamic Message Signs.

 The other project is District 6 ITS (4756.129B) in Berkeley, Charleston, and Jasper Counties on I-526, I-26 and I-95, respectively.  This project has 4 ITS cabinets, 1 concrete pole, 3 Dynamic Message Signs, 1 Hub Building, 1 Closed Circuit Television Assembly and 45,000 LF of Fiber Optic Cable.  The contractor will be required to attach conduit to two bridges on this project.  In addition to the ITS locations, our team is working on 5 Homeland Security site throughout the State.
