Project Description:
Triplett-King performed the bridge inspection, load ratings and design alternates for the replacement of the center “Delta Frame” pier as part of the I-77 widening project in Rock Hill, SC. The design consisted of removing the center “Delta Frame” in the center portion of the superstructure and temporarily supporting the span with complex falsework over I-77. The next phase was building a new concrete column bent, splicing on new steel girders and replacing the center portion of the deck slab. Preparing preliminary bridge design for the complete replacement of the entire structure was also performed as an alternate.
