Project Description:

Triplett-King was selected by the SCDOT to perform the bridge design for the replacement of the S-605 Bridge over Fairforest Creek in Spartanburg County. Triplett-King managed all sub consultants for bridge hydrology/hydraulic design, roadway design, environmental documents and permitting, geotechnical exploration, and utilities. Final plans were completed in December 2005.

The new bridge consists of a 120 foot long, 3 span continuous Type I Modified, prestressed concrete beam superstructure supported on steel pile foundations at the end bents and prestressed concrete pile foundations at the interior bents. This is the first Type I Modified beam bridge designed by a consultant for the SCDOT. The bridge will be constructed in stages in order to maintain traffic flow.
