Project Description:
Triplett-King was selected by SCDOT to perform the management, design and final construction plans for the SC 41 Bridge Replacement over the Wando River in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The new bridge will replace the existing 1600’, 2 lane, low level swing span bridge and will consist of a higher level, fixed span, pre-cast concrete beam bridge approximately 2,500’ long. The design will allow construction to be staged to maintain 2 lanes of traffic during the bridge replacement.
Triplett-King is providing the design management and coordination for the design team and services include: surveying, bridge hydraulics, environmental documents and permitting (including US Coast Guard permit), roadway and drainage design, geotechnical exploration and recommendations, bridge design, utility relocation coordination and subsurface utilities engineering (SUE).
Triplett-King also provided coordination for SCDOT with Charleston Public Works and Mt. Pleasant Water Works for the new water line project along SC 41 and Clements Ferry Road, including a Level 2 Environmental Assessment for hazardous materials and utility agreements.
